File Structure

This chapter summarizes the structure and functionality of DeepEdit’s files and folder. A brief description of each of the program's folders:

Figure 45. DeepEdit’s folder structure

The subdirectories with which the user must interact to execute the methodologies are the directory "database", "results" and "examples". Apart from "nod" (which is created by Deep-Editor automatically if it does not exist), none of these directories should be renamed or moved from the installation folder.

  • config: Relevant DeepEdit’s configuration information. It contains temporal and permanent configuration information for the GUI and tools. It also stores the configuration files for the Visual Import tools and Economic Dispatch Interface Layer (Edil) with other software PET, PLEXOS, PLP and others.

  • database: sub-folder that holds the sample databases with network elements, dispatch information and transmission pricing data.

  • examples: sub-folder with local schematic .sim files with examples from the literature.

  • help: sub-folder that holds the system help files.

  • lib: sub-folder with all the java external libraries (usually .jar and .zip).

  • maps: sub-folder with GIS information and maps

  • nod: sub-folder created “on the run” by Deep-Editor to print temporary files or intermediate power flow and other simulation results (not shown in Figure 45 as it is not created upon installation).

  • results: contains the text files delivered as reports by the methodologies.

Other folders not shown store output information created by some of the analysis tools. These files are explained in the related functionality description.
